We recently took a journey on the steps and order booking wedding vendors should take in Part 1 of You’re Engaged. Lets take a look at the next steps you’ll take when planning your big day!
Lights, camera, action! It is important to meet with 2-3 different photographers within your price range. This way you can get an idea on how you feel with them, and get a look at their style.
Let’s eat cake! Meet with bakers and cake creators to pick a delicious dessert to wow your guests, suit your theme, and meet your budget. Each baker has their own style, design and inspiration. So schedule appointments with a few different vendors to see samples of their work, and see what they have in mind for you.
Stationery. Invitations are the first glimpse into your wedding. The colors set the theme, the wording sets your tone, and the design ties it all together. If you have the luxury of 1-2 years until your wedding day or are planning a destination wedding, a save the date is a great way to give your guests notice to keep your wedding day open. Invitations should be sent out no later than 8 weeks before your wedding.
Suits up! Talk with your Fiance and Groomsmen to see if they own appropriate suits, or if tuxedos will need to be rented. Once you have your colors and theme in mind, you should meet with Menswear shops to inquire about rentals. A lot of the time they include everything from the shoes, shirt, vest, tie and even socks! It really is a 1 stop shop!
Serenade your guests. You will need to look at your budget to see if you have the money for a live band, a DJ, wedding singer etc. You may need to decide which is the most important to you and your guests. If you want the feel and sound of a band, but it is not in your budget you may just want the band for cocktails and dinner. Then have a DJ for the dance. Or you may prefer the sounds of soft instruments while you walk down the aisle to your waiting Husband. There are a lot of options, but make sure you talk with your ceremony site first.
